Kelly Banister, CEO NORWACS comments as follows:

“We are delighted to receive this increased funding which enables us to support more women in our community with complex health issues, particularly those who are dealing with the trauma of gendered violence and devastation of recent natural disasters.

“We are grateful to Minister Park and the NSW Government for recognising the importance and effectiveness of the work we do in facilitating women’s achievement of better health and wellbeing outcomes and committing these critically needed resources.”

“Our Centre and team of highly skilled specialists provide a safe, confidential and unique service to women and their children in our region, and this funding ensures we can continue to make a positive difference to many more lives.”

Acknowledgement of Country

Women’s Health Northern Rivers acknowledges the Widjabul Wia-bal people of the Bundjalung Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, work, and play.

We pay deep respect to Elders past and present, and honour the leadership of emerging Elders.

We extend our respect to all Bundjalung clan groups, and recognise the ongoing cultural and spiritual connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country – land, waters and sky.

We especially acknowledge the Bundjalung women who continue to care for Country, and the knowledge, wisdom and stories they share.

We are grateful to live and work on this land, and remain committed to walking together towards better health and social outcomes.
